11th annual Senior Investigator competition open

The NIHR 11th annual Senior Investigator competition has opened.

Leading researchers funded by the NIHR or the Department of Health Policy Research Programme can apply and selection is by an international peer-review panel.

Selection criteria include the excellence of investigators' research in comparison to other research in their field, the relevance of their research to patients and the public, the impact of their research on healthcare and public health and the impact of their personal leadership on patient and people-based research.

Applicants should discuss with their relevant Dean and/or BRC Theme Director.

To view the full invitation to apply and guidance for applicants visit the NIHR competitions webpage.

Senior Investigators are fundamental to the formation of the NIHR Faculty and represent the country’s most outstanding leaders of clinical and applied health and social care research. They receive an award of £15,000 a year as a personal discretionary fund, and attract additional NIHR Research Capability Funding. This is then recycled straight back into flexible research expenditure across our UCLH/UCL partnership.

Deadline: 1pm, Wednesday 23 August 2017
