Researchers are invited to apply for funding from the BRC’s Oral Health and Disease (OH&D) Theme.

Applicants are invited to apply for:

  • 2 x WTE fellowships up to £60,000/year
  • ‘Fast Track’ projects up to £20,000 for up to 18 months

The OH&D Theme seeks proposals to support experimental medicine research in accordance to the research strategy and focused on delivery of impact.

The BRC supports directly incurred costs only and costings should be calculated with a start date no earlier than 1 April 2018.

The focus of the fund is to drive translational research in to bring experimental medicine research closer to clinical practice. Avenues that the funding will support include research leading to the development of new therapies; supporting interactions with industry partners; developing intellectual property through patient facing activities; and generating evidence around the effectiveness of interventions for the benefit of patients.

The Theme is committed to expand the portfolio of experimental studies within OH&D and delivering on four areas:

  • Oral infection/inflammation and systemic health & disease
  • Oral cancer and oral diseases in cancer patients and survivors
  • Oral and facial pain
  • Dental tissue defects and loss

Applications will be reviewed by the OH&D Theme Board with support from external reviewers.
