Apply now - Philip Leverhulme prizes

Invitations are invited from biological sciences researchers from the Leverhulme Trust for the 2017 Philip Leverhulme prizes.

UCL may submit a maximum of three nominations per subject area, as a result the SLMS Research Facilitation team are running an internal selection process to manage nominations to the biological sciences subject area. All candidates must have the support of their Divisional/Institute Director.

Applicants must hold either a permanent post or a long-term fellowship in a UK institution of higher education or research that would extend beyond the duration of the Philip Leverhulme prize. Those otherwise without salary are not eligible to be nominated.

Further details of the internal selection process for the Biological Sciences subject area, including associated forms and guidelines, can be downloaded from the SLMS Research Facilitation webpages (intranet).

Applicants should send the internal application form to slms.facilitators@ucl.ac.uk with “Philip Leverhulme prize” in the subject line, followed by their name, and must copy in the Divisional/Institute Director, by 12pm, Monday 20 March.

Applications for other subject areas will be internally triaged through parallel selection processes run by the SLASH (History, Law, Philosophy and Theology, and Sociology and Social Policy areas) and BEAMS (Mathematics and Statistics areas) Facilitation Teams.

Philip Leverhulme prizes recognise the achievement of outstanding researchers whose work has already attracted international recognition and whose future career is exceptionally promising. Each Prize has a value of £100,000, which may be used over a two or three year period. Prizes can be used for any purpose which can advance the prize-holder’s research, with the exception of enhancing the prize-holder’s salary.
