A conference in London in April 2024 will champion the advancement of safe and innovative surgical practices on a global scale.

The IDEAL conference – aimed at surgeons and healthcare professionals in related disciplines and organised by UCL – will explore the latest developments in three main areas:

  • Robotics and artificial intelligence

  • Global surgery

  • Education.

Conference details

Date: Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th April 2024

Venue: The Royal College of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London, WC1G OAE.

The conference is hosted by the IDEAL Collaboration – an initiative to improve the quality of research in surgery and complex interventions to build up a robust evidence base about new procedures and devices.

Conference Directors are Mr Hani Marcus, Academic Consultant Neurosurgeon at UCL and UCLH, and Peter McCulloch, Professor of Surgical Science and Practice at the University of Oxford.
