The NIHR is inviting applications for funding from its new Research and Innovation for Global Health Transformation (RIGHT) programme.
The programme will initially be funding research in the following areas:
- epilepsy
- infection-related cancer
- severe stigmatising skin diseases.
The total amount of NIHR funding available for this competition is up to £30 million. Awards will typically range between £3-5 million over 3-4 years for ODA-eligible research to start in June 2019.
The RIGHT programme is part of the UK’s commitment to Official Development Assistance (ODA), which aims to deliver challenge-led research which will primarily benefit low and middle income countries.
RIGHT has a two stage application process. Applicants successful at Stage 1 and invited to submit a Stage 2 application will be eligible to apply for funding of up to £10,000 to support proposal and partnership development during the Stage 2 process.
The deadline for Stage 1 applications is 1 August 2018 at 13:00.
