The UCLH Innovation Office has extended its call for ideas from UCLH staff for solving problems involving equipment and improving patient care. Ideas are particularly welcomed that can be used in other trusts, primary care or community settings. These can be ideas used in a pilot study already, or simply stumbling blocks that have been identified, with no solutions yet.
Latest funding news includes call from the Health Innovation Challenge Fund (HIC Fund) for applications and new dates for the i4i Life Science Accelerator programme. Professor Henning Walczak and his team have joined the UCL Cancer Institute. His team, which is funded by Cancer Research UK, the Wellcome Trust, the European Research Council, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the Association for International Cancer Research, is internationally recognised for its work on cell death and inflammation, specifically focussing on the biology of death receptor-ligand and the ubiquitin systems.
The next deadline for the BRC and UCLH Charitable Trustees' fast track grants scheme will be 3 June 2013.
