Clinical Trials Day at UCLH

UCLH will be celebrating International Clinical Trials Day on 20 May with information stalls, tours and activities across the trust.

Patients and the public will be able to find out about clinical research, including trials happening at UCLH. There will be opportunities for the public to say what research should be happening, and more important information on how patients can get involved in research.

The following locations will be open to patients and the public:

University College Hospital 2-4pm, Ground floor atrium, 235 Euston Road, NW1 2BU The UCL Bioresource team, the Clinical Research Facility staff, the Joint Research Office and the UCL Cancer Trials Centre will be at University College Hospital in the afternoon with research experiments, games and information about how the public can get actively involved in the design and conduct of research.

Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital 9.30am-12.30pm in the Nuffield paediatric waiting area and 1.30-4.30pm in adult outpatients, 330 Gray’s Inn Road, WC1X 8DA The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital will be asking the public what they would like them to investigate and inviting them to take part in quizzes about ear research.

Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre 11.30am-3pm, Ground Floor, Albany Wing, National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, Queen Square, WC1N 3BG Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the state of the art facility and meet the clinical research staff. This year stalls will be telling patients and the public it’s “OK to ask” about clinical research. This campaign, led by the National Institute for Health Research, encourages patients to ask their doctor, nurse or consultant about research opportunities available to them.
