Huge new programme of award-winning PPI workshops

The BRC is running a programme of regular award-winning PPI workshops over the next eight months.

The workshops, which are supported by the Wellcome Trust and open to researchers working in UCLPartners partnership organisations, are practical and the aim is to build up researchers’ skills in effectively involving lay people in the research process from setting research priorities to designing protocols.

Now in their third year, the workshops will be spread over a longer period of time (May to December 2016) than previous years as a long term resource available to a wider community.

Locations will be a much greater spread, from central London venues to Southend.

Workshops available are:

  • introduction to PPI
  • setting up and supporting lay panels
  • developing facilitation skills for PPI
  • accessing patients and the public
  • filling in grant forms
  • masterclass for those experienced in PPI
