Job opportunity: UCL Bioresource nurse

The UCL Bioresource is recruiting for a clinical research nurse.

The role will involve working on UCL BioResource studies, outpatient clinics and within the community recruiting to a wide range medical research studies which arise from stage one and stage two BioResource studies.

The clinical themes of the BioResource are neuroscience, cardiovascular diseases, infection, inflammation and immunity, and rare diseases including rare cancers.

The post holder will recruit individuals, obtain informed consent for participation in UCL BioResource research studies, take biological samples (blood and saliva), undertake sample processing, administer research questionnaires, undertake data collection and study coordination.

The UCL BioResource aims to gather 10,000 DNA samples from volunteers and patients at UCL partner hospitals to help researchers find out how genes influence disease.

In April 2014 the UCL BioResource was launched as one of seven centres in the nationwide NIHR BioResource project.
