The CBRC has awarded 8 new project grants this month.
The CBRC received a fantastic response to the funding call made in autumn 2010. After a robust peer review process, grants were awarded to projects from the infectious disease, neurotherapeutics, neurodiagnostics and cardiovascular disease themes.
Funded projects include research to improve diagnosis of viral encephalitis, methods of improving vaccination, new therapies for mitochondrial diseases and evaluation of a novel combination therapy for pulmonary hypertension.
CBRC director Professor Deenan Pillay said: “We are delighted at the range of projects we have been able to fund. These are exciting and cutting-edge proposals, and are an excellent example of the translational potential embedded across the UCLH/UCL partnership.”
See below for full details of the funded projects.
