PPI workshop back by popular demand

Our Biomedical Research Centre is repeating its popular one-day workshop for researchers on patient and public involvement (PPI) in biomedical research.

The workshop is for UCL and UCLH biomedical researchers new to PPI and provides a practical and realistic introduction to the different ways patients and the public can be actively involved in the research process.

Sessions cover the different stages in which patients can be involved, identifying and addressing barriers to PPI, the kinds of support researchers can access, and how to make sure PPI works for everyone.

The aim is to build up researchers’ understanding of PPI, help researchers get started with PPI and enable people to share ideas and experiences.

The workshop ‘Experience matters: An introduction to patient and public involvement in research’ is run by PPI experts and trainers Bec Hanley and Derek Stewart

Please note this workshop focuses on the active involvement of lay people in the design and conduct of research. It is not about recruiting volunteers to trials.
