UCLH Open Day - just one week to go!

There is just one week to go until the UCLH Open Day where patients and the public can visit interactive stalls, talk to scientists and tour facilities.

This special exhibition of research and innovation will see three floors of University College Hospital accommodate 50 interactive stalls where researchers will demonstrate the latest technology and techniques tackling conditions such as cancer, dementia and arthritis.

Visitors will have the chance to put on headphones and try a cochlear implant simulator; have a 3D scan of their face; find out their hand hygiene levels; extract DNA from strawberries in addition to many other activities.

Visitors will have the opportunity to tour some of the trust’s state-of-the art facilities, bookable on the day. A Tours Desk will register attendees who would like to tour any of the following venues:

Cotton Rooms Patient Hotel

Tours at 3, 3.30, 4 and 5pm (tour length 20 minutes)

Visit the stylish 35-bedroom hotel that is available for UCLH NHS patients.  The boutique hotel – the first of its kind in the NHS – provides touches of luxury to help patients retain their independence while undergoing clinical tests and treatments.

Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health

Tours at 3:15pm and 4:00pm (tour length 35 minutes)

The Institute is London’s health legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and treats elite athletes, ‘weekend warriors’ and NHS patients under the same roof.

Tours at 3:00pm, 3:30pm, 4:00pm, 4:30pm (tour length 40 minutes)
