In addition, the UCL Therapeutic Innovation Networks (TINs) were initiated by the TRO in 2015, as ‘community of practices’ around six therapeutic modalities - Biologics, Cell & Gene Therapy, Devices & Diagnostics, Regenerative Medicine, Repurposing and Small Molecules.

The aim of the networks is to encourage multidisciplinary shared learning across the university, partner hospitals, and with industry partners, to address common healthcare challenges. Through creating a ‘critical mass’ of academic investigators and allowing the opportunity to showcase UCL’s strengths and capabilities across key therapeutic modalities and translational processes, the TINs further facilitate strategic collaboration with external partners.
