Carl is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to nursing team working in Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre (LWENC) Clinical Research Facility. Carl provides support to team members in terms of training and development, ensuring competencies, compliance and expected standards are observed and delivered. He works closely with the CRF Senior Management team as well as with the other staff functions to improve research and service delivery and to provide support to other service users such as, but not limited to, space provision and study nurse allocation, etc. Carl is keen to raise research awareness among clinical colleagues and patients alike.
Prior to joining the LWENC CRF, Carl has years of experience in clinical research in different capacities, from being a research nurse to lead research nurse. He also had the opportunity to work as part of the Quality Improvement team for almost two years, implementing a trust-wide change initiatives through accreditation and transformation process. He likes to inform best practice and increase awareness on the positive contribution that research can make to improve patient outcomes.
