Dr Yang Chen

Dr Yang Chen is a clinician by background and graduated in medicine from the University of Oxford in 2013. He has focused his training in Cardiology since 2017, when he was appointed as a Specialty Registrar and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at UCL.

He has additionally completed an Executive MSc in Health Economics, Outcomes and Management in Cardiovascular Sciences at the London School of Economics and Political Science and most recently held the role of Chief Registrar at St Bartholomew’s Hospital (2020-2021).

Yang’s work at the CRIU will be focused on developing a pragmatic randomised clinical trial embedded within the electronic health record. Alongside this, he will be analysing existing datasets in conjunction with colleagues throughout UCLH and UCL, in order to gain deep experience of the application of high quality data science in answering important clinical questions.

Yang has a keen interest in learning health systems and medical decision-making, and is always enthusiastic to hear from interested people about possible future collaborations.
