Kawsar Noor is a software developer on the CogStack pipeline, a suite of text analytics tools designed for electronic health records. His day-to-day role involves improving the pipeline by collaborating with researchers working in the area as well as with clinicians interested in using the pipeline for their projects. Prior to joining the team Kawsar dipped in and out between academia and industry. He completed his undergraduate degree in electronic engineering and as part of his final year project worked on machine learning. This served as a segue into his MSc in intelligent systems, which eventually led him to take up a PhD. In between his MSc and PhD he worked for a period of time as a developer in the city. General areas of interest are natural language processing and general machine learning.
