Shuk Wa is the Senior Laboratory Manager for NIHR UCLH Clinical Research Facility. She oversees the laboratories at the Bloomsbury, 170 Tottenham Court Road site and the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre (LWENC) at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Shuk Wa has overall responsibly for maintaining a well-equipped laboratory space and ensuring clinical trial samples collected in the facility are processed according to study specific protocols and adhered to GCP and GCLP standards. She manages daily operations in the laboratories, provides staff training and supervises a team of skilled laboratory personnel ensuring they achieve a high quality of work.
Shuk Wa is a member of the UK Clinical Research Facility Network Laboratory Managers group, which exchanges ideas and communicates with other laboratories managers in regular meetings, aims to bring best practice across the network.
Before joining the NIHR UCLH CRF, Shuk Wa worked in laboratories since graduating, in the academic and commercial field including research in reproductive biology, Research & Development in innovation technology, medical diagnostic and clinical research laboratories. She loves sharing her experience and expertise with people to continuously improving the delivery of research in CRF.
