Important advances in translation:

• Fluid biomarkers of dementia: CSF NfL and A40/42 validated in research cohorts then transferred to the NHNN clinical chemistry service and provided to clinicians around the country. Blood NfL now validated in research cohorts using SIMOA. Due to be rolled out as a clinical service leading to enhanced and more accurate diagnosis of dementia subtypes and AD in particular.
• New nurse led CSF Clinic established
• Biomarker laboratory established; Leveraged funding from Wolfson (£1.1m; 2012-19); UK DRI (£1.5m; 2017-22) – supporting BRC dementia studies
