An increasing number of our clinical research trials involve ‘healthy volunteers’ – people who are generally healthy who are interested in taking part in research.

Healthy volunteers help provide researchers with crucial data because their health information can be used as a comparison. In some studies, researchers compare healthy volunteers with people who have a specific disease or condition.

At the NIHR UCLH CRF we have set up a registry of healthy volunteers. People who register will be sent information about trials they may be able to take part in.

Participants in healthy volunteer studies will most likely be compensated for their time and inconvenience. This varies however depending on the nature and design of the study.

Details on the registry will be kept confidential, and those registered can ask to be removed from the registry at any time by sending an email to uclh.crf.healthyvolunteers@nhs.net.
