BRC looking for researchers to trial PPI in lab based work

The BRC is looking for early stage researchers to pilot different ways of involving patients and the public in basic research as part of a groundbreaking collaborative with 4 research charities.

The BRC has joined forces with Parkinson’s UK, Arthritis Research UK, Pancreatic Cancer UK, and the Alzheimer's Society to investigate which models of PPI work best in a lab-based setting, and how best to support patients to input and shape basic research.

The BRC is looking for lab based researchers who would like to involve the public in their work this year. The BRC would fund the cost of the involvement - such as the cost of holding meetings and reimbursing members of the public, as well as support and training. Researchers would then be asked to spare some time to be interviewed so pilots can be documented. All the pilots will be documented and the collaboration will jointly review the pilots, with the aim of writing up and publishing conclusions and recommendations.
