A number of BRC-supported researchers have been appointed or re-appointed as National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigators in the NIHR’s 2021 round of awards.
New appointments include Professor Robert Heyderman (Infectious Diseases).
Re-appointments from UCL include Professor Anne Schilder (Deafness and hearing loss), Professor Aroon Hingorani (Cardiology and Cardiovascular disease).
Professor Susan Michie (Psychology) was announced as an Emeritus Senior Investigator.
Dr Waseem Qasim (Paediatrics) and Professor Paul Gissen (Paediatrics) from UCL were also named as new Senior Investigators.
Senior Investigators are among the most prominent and prestigious researchers funded by the NIHR and the most outstanding leaders of patient and people-based research within the NIHR research community.
