Consultation launches to help increase public access to research findings

The Health Research Authority has this week launched a consultation on its strategy to increase public access to research findings.

The consultation on the HRA’s Make it Public strategy is aimed at patient groups as well as researchers and funders.

Patients and researchers can complete an online survey – open until 6 September – or attend one of several face-to-face workshops, including one at Friends House in Euston on 16 July.

The HRA’s Make it Public strategy focuses on three key areas of research transparency – registering research projects, making research findings public and letting participants have access to findings from research which they have taken part in.

The strategy is being developed after Parliament’s Science and Technology Committee asked the HRA to make a step-change in research transparency.
