IMI2: Indicative text for proposals published

The second Innovative Medicines Initiative programme (IMI2) has published indicative texts in diabetes, retinal diseases and disease prediction.

The following topics are under consideration for inclusion in the calls for proposals before the launch in July:

This second IMI programme aims at delivering tools, methods and prevention and treatment options (directly or indirectly) that will progress personalised medicine and prevention.

The IMI is a public-private partnership between the European Union and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations. IMI's goal is to build a more collaborative ecosystem for pharmaceutical Research & Development in Europe and to speed up the development of more effective and safer medicines for patients. IMI2 plans to build on and expand the existing initiative.

Under IMI2, the Medical Research Council (MRC) will run a networking costs scheme to help with the costs incurred in building a consortium and preparing an IMI2 proposal. More information is available on the MRC website.
