Launch of Dementia Data Portal and Discovery Awards

Dementia Platform UK (DPUK) has launched a new data resource giving researchers free access to over two million patient records optimised for dementia research. Researchers can apply for awards of up to £50k to fund data analysis within the portal.

The portal is available to researchers across the world and allows them to access and analyse data from 45 different cohort studies with more than 16,000 unique variables. DPUK’s processing power of data sets can be harnessed through a virtual desktop, providing a secure area to work.

The portal will also runs analysis from imaging and genetic data, giving the wider science community detailed information in scans and blood tests.

The Discovery Awards gives researchers the opportunity to win individual awards of up to £50k for research using data from the platform. Winners will be announced on 23rd April 2018. Application deadline 6th April 2018.
