An online service for dementia research careers and support, delivered by UCL and the BRC at UCLH, has launched a new online platform designed to transform how dementia researchers connect, collaborate and grow.
The ‘Communities’ app from Dementia Researcher enables dementia researchers to:
- find collaborators for their next project
- ask for advice on complex research questions
- bounce ideas off others in the field
- have real-time conversations with peers around the world
- join expert-led weekly webinars and live-streamed events, including virtual journal clubs
Dementia Researcher is supported by funding from the NIHR, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society. It is an international service, based within the NIHR UCLH BRC, and is led by Programme Director Adam Smith and Professor Martin Rossor.
Its over-arching goal is to encourage more people to the field of dementia research and to provide support and resources to improve retention of early career researchers.
