RDS seeks lay members for PPI advisory group

Research Design Service (RDS) London is seeking lay members to join an advisory group which contributes to the oversight and development of their PPI strategy.

The advisory group will meet four times a year and will discuss ways of:

  • supporting RDS London in promoting good PPI practice
  • supporting training for RDS advisors
  • advising on strategic collaborations
  • providing feedback on RDS PPI webpages
  • contributing to the PPI section of the annual report.

Investigators are welcome to pass the word on to any patients/lay people with some experience of involvement in research studies to contribute to this work. Reimbursement of expenses and payment for time (£25/hour) will be offered. All meetings will be held in central London.

There are two vacancies. Applicants must email a CV to ppi@rdslondon.co.uk by 30 September 2014. If selected, applicants will be invited to an informal discussion to talk about the post.

RDS London supports investigators who are preparing research grant applications. This includes offering advice to researchers on how to involve patients and members of the public most effectively at all stages of the research process. www.rdslondon.co.uk
