Workshops to learn basics of coding announced for clinical staff

Clinical academics and healthcare professionals can learn the basics of coding at a two-day workshop organised by the UCL Academic Careers Office this autumn.

The Clinician Coders workshop is open to clinical staff at any career stage and will consist of seven hands-on data science and computer programming sessions.

Participants will also have the chance to go through the raw data connected with their own projects with experienced programmers.

The workshop is being run across two full days on 16-17 October and 5-6 November on the UCL campus (venue TBC). The content is the same for both workshops.

The coding language used on the course will be the open-source statistical computing language R, and attendees will use a freely available application for working with R called R Studio.

15 places are available on each workshop. The cost of attendance is £350.

Visit UCL Event Ticketing for more information and to book.

Note that participants will need to bring their own laptops to sessions. For any questions contact Felipe Fouto in the Academic Careers Office – f.fouto@ucl.ac.uk.
