The UCLH Innovation Office has put a call out for ideas from UCLH staff for solving problems involving equipment and improving patient care. We particularly welcome ideas that can be used in other trusts, primary care or community settings.
Professor Henning Walczak and his team have joined the UCL Cancer Institute. His team, which is funded by Cancer Research UK, the Wellcome Trust, the European Research Council, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the Association for International Cancer Research, is internationally recognised for its work on cell death and inflammation, specifically focussing on the biology of death receptor-ligand and the ubiquitin systems.
The next deadline for the BRC and UCLH Charitable Trustees' fast track grants scheme will be 3 June 2013.
The NIHR has brought out another issue of the e-magazine Faculty World for NIHR faculty members.
UCL staff wanting to engage with companies, social enterprises, charities and other non-academic organisations can now apply for the Enterprise Secondment Awards.
Researchers are invited to attend the first international Functional Genomics Workshop 6-8 February. The workshop, which is being held by Guys and St Thomas’ BRC, aims to highlight new advances in understanding the functional impact of genetic variation in immune mediated inflammatory and rheumatic diseases and to provide an experimental framework for investigating the function of allelic variants. The workshop also aims to provide opportunities for investigators and their collaborators to network.
