In support of this initiative, which is a collaboration between UCL and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, we are holding a series of seminars on 7 March to showcase the best of activities.
The subject is innate immune mechanisms in infection, and topics covered include:
- NK cells as potential effectors of vaccine‐induced immunity
- How Leishmania exploit the wound response for infection
- Host‐Virus interactions and the Red Queen
- Innate immune host‐pathogen interactions: From HIV infection of macrophages to the
- Tuberculin skin test
- Pandemic Influenza; genome evolution during transmission and intrinsic host blocks to infection.
The new institute is being set up by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and University College London, both linked to UCLH.
The seminars are from 4 to 6pm, followed by a drinks reception, in Lecture Theatre 4 and Eldred Walls Room, Windeyer Institute, 46 Cleveland Street, London W1T 4JF.
