International Radiology awards for researchers

Two of the Radiology team at University College Hospital are being honoured at the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) conference, being held in Montreal, Canada.

Professor Margaret Hall-Craggs, professor of Medical Imaging at UCL, and consultant radiologist at University College Hospital, has been awarded the society’s silver medal for distinguished service.

Professor Hall-Craggs is the 19th recipient of the medal, and is only the second woman to receive the award. This is a huge honour and a reflection of her standing in the MR Radiology community.

At the same time, Dr Timothy Bray, a specialist registrar in Radiology at University College Hospital, is receiving the ISMRM Junior Fellowship.  This is a hotly contested award, with only 10 to 15 awards being made annually from a potential field of more than 2,000 member trainees. This is a reflection of his outstanding abilities as a junior researcher in the field.

Margaret said: “We are really honoured and delighted to receive these prestigious awards, and it is fabulous that the UCLH academic radiology team is being recognised in this way.”

These awards reflect the strength of MR research undertaken and published from the clinical service in University College Hospital and the Centre for Medical Imaging at UCL.
