UCLH top in analysis of trial recruitment

UCLH is the highest recruiter among UCLPartners (UCLP) organisations in 2021 to clinical trials run in conjunction with the healthcare company IQVIA.

Figures from IQVIA, which works which NHS Trusts and universities across the UK to deliver commercially sponsored clinical trials, show that at the midway point in 2021, UCLH had recruited 231 participants of the 1165 recruited across UCLP as whole to IQVIA associated trials.

UCLP is made up of NHS Trusts and universities across North and East London, Essex, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. This includes 23 NHS Trusts.

UCLP is an IQVIA ‘Prime Site’ – a high-performing clinical trial centre. There are four Prime Sites across the UK. Halfway through 2021, the UCLP Prime Site is also the top recruiter to trials among all Prime Sites.

IQVIA is currently involved in 20% of all commercial clinical trials within the NHS. 35% of their trials are run through their network of Prime Sites. IQVIA aim to work with clinical trial sites to maximise recruitment, and ensure efficient management of research studies.
