CRF sites and contact details

Our CRF has two sites. Both sites have a reception and waiting area for patients and carers, fully equipped clinical space compliant with all UCLH Trust policies, a sample-processing laboratory (with -20°C and -80°C freezers), and clean utility rooms for drug preparation.

Bloomsbury (170 Tottenham Court Road)

This is the largest CRF site that hosts trials across all therapeutic areas. Our large portfolio of early phase cancer trials are implemented here, alongside trials in other areas including gastrointestinal disorders and autoimmune disorders. 

Facilities include:

  • 7 consultation rooms and 2 bedrooms for overnight stays
  • There are 9 bays for intravenous infusions, including 2 beds
  • Patient refreshments bay
  • GCLP-linked laboratory (UCL ECMC GCLP Facility)
  • On site research pharmacy
  • Dedicated room for monitoring visits

Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre (LWENC)

Embedded within the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), the LWENC first opened in 2014, and in 2018 formally became a part of the comprehensive NIHR CRF. The LWENC is a specialist CRF site with expertise in a broad range of neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease, as well as motor neurone disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. 

Facilities include:

  • 3 consultation/side rooms for study visits that require privacy or for overnight patient stays, in addition to a standard consulting room (all suitable for cognitive testing/assessments)
  • Infusion bay with 3 chairs for intravenously delivered medicinal products
  • Co-located with relevant NHNN facilities including neuroimaging, neuroimmunology and pharmacy departments
